Aluminium
GENERAL
Aluminium has the same physical, chemical and mechanical properties as steel, brass, copper, zinc, lead and titanium. Aluminum can be melted, poured, shaped and processed, and it conducts electricity. In practice, the same equipment and manufacturing methods are often used as the ones applied for steel.

One of the nicest properties of aluminum is its recyclability. In this way, Remi Claeys Aluminium uses more than 95% of secondary aluminum for casting its specific alloys. This makes Remi Claeys Aluminium an environmentally conscious and ecologically responsible business.
Chemical definition Origin and history
PRODUCTION PROCES
Aluminium is best known in it's secondary form. This means that the final product is made from recycled aluminum with pure aluminum and additives. Primary aluminum, however, is extracted from minerals and requires a more complex and intensive processing.
Remi Claeys Aluminium produces secondary alunimum by purchasing highly selective aluminum scrap and converting this back to standardized aluminum alloys in an environmentally conscious way.

ALLOYS
Aluminum can be alloyed with manganese, silicon, magnesium, zinc or other elements. The addition of a small amount (0.5 to 3%) of one or more other metals is sufficient to significantly improve some useful properties of aluminum such as strength, hardness, weldability and corrosion resistance. Remi Claeys Aluminium has years of experience in this process and provides alloys with specific advantages for the customer. In close cooperation with the customer we deploy the right alloy according to the needs of the product.
When you click on the box below, you will see the most commonly used aluminum alloys according to series:
